DMCCF NEWS!!

Hi Friends and Loyal Supporters!

If I am to believe that the human spirit is stronger than anything that happens to it then I know Dean was smiling this past Saturday when the Dean Michael Clarizio Cancer Foundation awarded the first annual scholarship to two West Orange High School seniors heading to college next week. Jenna Gonzalez will be attending Farleigh Dickinson University (Madison campus).  Her dream is to be a writer.  Robert Kleivan was packing his bags for Merrimack College when we visited.  Robert is considering becoming a history teacher.  Both students completed an application that Becca, Thea, and my mom generated and sent to The West Orange Guidance Department last fall.  Jenna shares Dean’s love for writing and Robert shares his love for basketball.

Maria,

I would like to thank you and your family for helping Bobby with college.  It is greatly needed by us at this time.  You have a wonderful family.  I am looking forward to seeing you and everyone involved with the Dean Michael Clarizio Cancer Foundation.  We went on his web-site and got to know him.  He was a very special person.  Thank you again.  Please don’t forget to put me on the foundation mailing list, I want to help.

PS  I’m sure my wife and Dean will meet in heaven

To The Folks at The Dean Michael Clarizio Cancer Foundation:

For months now I have tried to compose a letter of thanks for our new living room furniture.  I could never express my true feelings in words.  I am at a true lose of expression.  Every time, you think the world is so cruel and un-kind somebody somewhere shows such un-believable kindness that it totally bowls you over.

Frank has liver cancer and is fighting a brave fight and we are hopeful that the end result will be a positive one.  He is participating in two clinical trials that have had some success in other patients.  So, with a little luck and God’s wishes he could recover.  The living room furniture is absolutely lovely and Frank is enjoying it so much.  He can’t go very far without feeling weak and I work so he is really stuck at home.  Most days he is lounging around in the living room.  You have made his life so much easier; he finally has something wonderful to sit on.  With some luck, someday, we can replace this kindness in return.

We are sorry to announce Frank's passing this June.
