The People Dean Has Helped
We have recently received some thank you letters we would like to share with you. Please click here to read these letters.
Two
West Orange High School seniors qualified for the Second Annual Dean
Michael Clarizio Scholarship Award in June 2007. Danielle Lanzet
and Danielle Peturcelli each received a two thousand dollar
scholarship.
Congratulations! And good luck in College!
Katherine
Cruz is a very brave young lady, who was diagnosed with a spinal tumor.
She underwent surgery, intense radiation, and chemotherapy. The
Foundation assisted Kathy by purchasing a new Mattress Set for her bed.
DMCCF bought and Joe installed a new Air Conditioner for Kathy’s
bedroom. The foundation is providing ongoing assistance with Utility
Bills to Kathy and her mom. In September Kathy returned to school.
In July we
received a letter from David Plotkin, sharing his son Max’s fight with
B-cell Lymphoma. Dave was establishing a fund for pediatric cancer
research. Dave and Dean attended West Orange High School and played
sports together. DMCCF donated one thousand dollars to The Max
Cure Fund for Pediatric Cancer Research at Memorial Sloan Kettering
Cancer Center.

The Valerie
Fund provides comprehensive health care for children with cancer and
blood disorders. Since 1983, the Valerie Fund has operated Camp Happy
Times, a free one week, overnight camp experience for children who have
or have had cancer. In August 2007 Dean donated five thousand dollars
to sponsor a basketball clinic at Camp Happy Times.
In March 2006, we were able to raise money to help the family of 2 year old Mackenzie Roe Kolleck. Having been diagnosed with a Brain Tumor just a month earlier we wanted to help in anyway possible. As we know this disease is cruel and devastating. Kenzie lost her battle with cancer on May 3, 2006. Our hearts and prayers go out to Kenzie's family.
Dean donated $2,000 dollars to Beth Lopez to help win her battle with cancer

Dean donated $2,000 dollars to Conor Coyle to keep fighting cancer

Dean donated $5,000 to Virgillia Delvalle to help defeat her cancer

Dean donated gift certificates to the teenagers at the Valerie Center at St. Barnabas Hospital

Dean donated a laptop computer to Sharlee as she battles cancer and goes to nursing school. It is with heavy hearts that we mourn the passing of Sharlee this spring 2006.

Dean has presented scholarships to two wonderful students, Robert Kleivan and Jenna Gonzalez. Both received $2,000.00 towards their college education. Jenna wrote us a beautiful thank you note. You can read it here .

Dean donated $5,000.00 to Kim Nelson, a Montclair Police Officer battling breast cancer.

Dean donated $5,000.00 to Sandra who's son is fighting brain cancer and unable to work to support his children.
